Space Pirate Trainer release 1.0

The day is won! But the battle’s just getting started…

The popular Space Pirate Trainer by I-Illusions is maturing out of Early Access mode, and announces its full 1.0 version release on October 12, 2017 for both HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, and eventually Windows VR as well.

Space Pirate Trainer was originally released as an Early Access game in the Steam store in 2016 exclusively for the Vive, and has been one of the pre-eminent gateway drugs of the VR FPS genre.

“Space Pirate Trainer nails the purity of an arcade FPS in VR.” PC Gamer

The mechanics of the game are simple: wave after wave of increasingly aggressive and numerous droids attack you, a Space Pirate, armed with blasters, a shield, a baton (that becomes a lightsaber-whip?) and all the gadgets you’ll need to smash your way through your incessant robotic foes.

I-Illusions founder Dirk Van Welden dropped some hints at VRDC about what we can expect from the 1.0 version, including new enemies, new wave setups, new weapons, a navigational drone buddy, something called “Easy Mode”, and a boss fight.

Take a sneak peek at the Rocket Droid and destructible hexshields from Van Welden’s Twitter, where he regularly shares screenshots of what he’s working on.
