An upcoming VR gaming meetup in NYC will be sponsored by and take place at Hubneo VR Lab (114 Suffolk St) on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.
Hubneo is a popular VR playlab in the Lower East Side that offers a wide range of VR simulators and experiences, and is launching the meetup as the first of a regular series.
Afterwards, the arcade will be open for gameplay; attendees can play VR games on untethered room-scale Vive and Rift units, and on racing, flight, and 360-degree omnidirectional treadmill units as well.
In this inaugural, September installation, will bring together a diverse line-up of thought-leaders, developers, gamers and analytics across four different sub-sections of the VR industry:
- motion simulators, including their development, prototyping, and use in VR gaming applications, as discussed by Hubneo founder Ilya Polokhin;
- VR game and content design with a game developer from DreamSail Games, an indie video game studio located based in New York, and maker of the award-winning Blade Ballet for PlayStation VR and Steam;
- effective gaming tactics and techniques from a top-tier local gamer who has logged hundreds of hours in the simulation; and finally,
- the latest and upcoming VR gaming trends and predictions for 2018 and beyond, hosted by your very own Full Dive Gamer.
Light refreshments will be served, and event admission includes a gaming session on any of the simulators after the meetup (a $25 value).
Use meetup.com to RSVP to the event. Tickets are $10 per person and are still on sale, and will be available at the door.
